"Sadbhavana Pledge"

On this day, Sadbhavana Divas, 20th August 2020, the birthday of Former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi,

I take this pledge that I will strive for Sadbhavana (empathy, sincere fellow-feeling and mutual goodwill) with others and with our beloved mother nature, as captured by the sloka Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

I pledge to work towards spreading Sadbhavana among people of different religions, castes, classes, occupations, linguistic and ethnic identities within India, and to spread Sadbhavana across nations.

I understand that to spread Sadbhavana among others, I must have Sadbhavana with myself, which can come through acceptance, inner peace, love, truth and non-violence and working for others less fortunate.

I am confident that every step I take towards spreading Sadbhavana will help in making my country more progressive and prosperous for all Indians and the world a better place.
